In October we launched a significant update to the email builder feature in LGL, which greatly enhances the design options for email. It is now much easier to add elements to your emails, including images and buttons. You can also better manage the recipients in your emails. And, perhaps most important, you can now schedule an email to deliver up to 30 days in the future.
We have made the beta email builder available for those using the Annual Statements feature.
We have updated the language under Gift Settings so the PDF attachment option references email-based annual statements in addition to email-based acknowledgments.
In Forms, we have changed the text of the “File Upload” label so it uses the text color of the theme’s selected input note color, making it more legible.
Previously, the user profile link was present in Forms when it should only have been present and editable in LGL. The link has now been removed.
We have updated LGL Forms fields to accept commas without causing an error, though the comma is then automatically stripped as the value is passed through.
We have updated the Forms Admin area to allow approved emails list to be sorted by name or email, by clicking on the down arrow.
We have added the ability to update the time zone associated with a scheduled email.
We have updated the new email builder to default to sorting the list of draft emails by the “last edited” date.
For users preferring single-spaced emails, we have added a “line spacing” toggle to allow switching between single spacing and double spacing in email content.
In the email preview section, the user can now directly edit a constituent by using all of the following methods:
We have added “Constituent Type” to the API and expanded the search ability so it is now possible to use that field.
The new email builder appeared to allow users to drag images into the email body, but this was causing an error. We have made an update to clarify that images can’t be dragged; they can only be added via an image upload.
Bulleted or numbered lists were rendering correctly in the email builder but had incorrect indenting in the “Preview” and “Sent email overview” pages. This has been corrected.
When creating a template with the new email builder, the functionality for setting an email template to always send a PDF version of the email was missing. We have updated this so the functionality is present in both the original and new email builder template pages.
Previously, If you clicked on a Text element in the email builder and adjusted the padding you would only see the padding change when you clicked out of the text field. Now you should see a live update when clicking on the text element.
Previously, when entering a new primary constituent record, and as part of that process adding a related secondary constituent, once the secondary constituent was added all the previously entered primary constituent data would disappear. This has now been fixed.
Previously, clicking on page 2 of the mailing recipients list caused the constituent search for the mailing to be dropped when the new email builder had been enabled. This has now been fixed.
Previously, cloning a sent email was not working as expected; there was no email preview and errors were returned when the user attempted to advance through the steps. This has been corrected.
In Forms, in specific instances where the email confirmation template was corrupt or inaccessible (for example, a very large image pasted directly into an email confirmation template), the submission listing page for that form would break. We have added exception handling so that errors generated by malformed confirmation email settings won’t affect viewing a form’s submissions.
In Forms, some users were experiencing issues with recurring payments when they used a PayPal account that did not have custom card processing implemented. We have added an alert to notify users when they are creating a form using a PayPal account that has not had this processing enabled.
Some users were experiencing a delay in saving their Forms themes. This has been fixed.
The “Payment Summary with Deductible” merge field previously did not include the optional 3% add-on. This has now been fixed.
In Forms, some users experienced that the “Payment Summary with Deductible” field would be blank in the confirmation email. This has now been fixed.
Cloned forms with inventory limits on the original form would sometimes hold onto the limit and not display the Amount field in the cloned form. This has now been fixed.
Previously, LGL Forms submission data incorrectly indicated payments made by Venmo were made by credit card. This has now been fixed.
When a form was previewed, the preview would occasionally display the font size selected in the form but the form itself would display a smaller font size. This has been fixed.
Some of the merge fields in the confirmation page were not populating correctly for some PayPal Complete Payments transactions. These fields included CC/ACH Last 4, Payment Confirmation, Payment Type, and Payment Processor. The fields are now populating correctly.
If a recurring donation amount was changed, the deposited amount would sometimes be out of sync with the amount that was actually deposited. This has been fixed.
If a GivingTuesday form was copied from a different account and the payment processor was not changed, the form would appear to have a payment processor set but it would not function correctly. This occurred rarely, and it has now been fixed.
Previously, recurring gifts were listed in the unpaid submission list even if you filtered to see only one-time gifts. We have updated the “Unpaid” view so it will not include recurring gifts.
Canceled/Paused recurring donations were previously being included in the daily digest. We have made a change so inactive schedules are no longer included.
