2 important security updates to LGL

Posted September 11, 2025 by Timi Paccioretti

LGL security updates

We recently rolled out two important security updates to LGL accounts. The first is an improvement to our 2-step verification process, and the second is a new auto logout feature.

2-step verification

2-step verification, also known as 2-factor authentication, is a security feature that protects your LGL account from unauthorized access.

It works by requiring that you enter an additional verification code after you have logged in using your password. You can receive the verification code either through an email that LGL sends to the email address associated with your LGL account (this occurs by default) or now also through an Authenticator app, which can be set up on a by-user basis from the user’s My Profile page.

Authenticator app options include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Last Pass Authenticator, and other established authenticators.

2-step verification can be enabled in one of two ways:

  • Account-wide, applying to every user/team member in the account
  • For your individual user/team member profile (new)

You can learn how to enable and manage your account’s 2-step verification process in our Knowledge Base.

Automatically log out users who are idle

If there are team members in your Little Green Light account who use LGL on a non-private computer—or you just want to be extra-cautious—you have the option to force a logout when they have been idle (not actively using the application) for these specific periods of time:

  • 15 minutes
  • 30 minutes
  • 45 minutes
  • 1 hour

Note: It is possible to disable the auto logout default option.

This feature helps enhance the security of your LGL account and the data in it because users are required to log in regularly rather than allowing their account to sit idle and open. An example of how this feature protects the security of your LGL data is an account sitting idle and open when the user has stepped away, which may give another person a chance to access and use it.

Get all the details on how this feature works, even when you have access to multiple LGL accounts.

How to enable these security settings

To apply either of these account-wide settings, navigate to Settings > Subscription Settings > General and scroll down to the Security settings section.

Or, to enable the 2-step verification option in your individual user profile, go to My Profile at the the top of any page in your LGL account.
