As GivingTuesday approaches, make sure you’re prepared for this year’s online day of giving.
Build a simple online payment form that supporters can use to make their GivingTuesday contribution. The form should be straightforward and easy to submit. If you’re using Little Green Light to accept online donations with our LGL Forms feature, you can use our GivingTuesday template.
It gives donors peace of mind to know that they made their online donation successfully. Provide reassurance by setting up a confirmation page that donors land on once their gift is submitted. Also make sure you set up a confirmation email that’s sent once the gift is submitted.
The only way to be confident that your donors will have a positive experience is to test your form. If you’re using Little Green Light, you can test your form without actually making a gift. Reserve time in your calendar to test your form at least two weeks before GivingTuesday. This way, you’ll have time to troubleshoot and resolve any issues if you find them. And, you won’t be pressed for time.
Most organizations send at least one email reminder about GivingTuesday on the day itself. Just as you tested your donation form, you’ll need to draft and test your email in advance, and confirm that your email system is in order. If you’ll be using LGL Direct Email to send your email, you must activate it a few weeks in advance and be aware of any limitations if you’re a new email user.
Conclusion
By making a plan to accomplish these four items well in advance of GivingTuesday, you’re sure to be ready for a successful day with minimal stress.
