It might be hard to believe, but it’s time to start thinking about GivingTuesday again. This annual day of giving is a major force in philanthropy, with over $3 billion raised in the U.S. in 2022, of which $1 billion was given online.

Falling on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year, this year’s GivingTuesday takes place on
November 28, 2023.

Little Green Light makes it easier to get your ducks in a row by providing a GivingTuesday donation form you can activate with just a few clicks. We intentionally kept the form nice and simple: The faster it is to complete a form, the more likely it will happen! But you can easily adjust the color scheme if you’ve created a theme in LGL Forms.

How to use LGL’s pre-built GivingTuesday donation form

In a nutshell, the steps are:

  • Activate your LGL Forms area and set up a payment processor (Stripe or PayPal)
  • Click the green button to add the GivingTuesday form to your account
  • Review the options in the form and activate the sync to your LGL account
  • Publish the form on your website

And, once your form is ready…

Test your form rigorously

To ensure your donors will have a smooth giving experience, you need to test your form and make sure it’s working as you intend. In Little Green Light, you can test your form without actually making a gift. We recommend testing your form at least a couple of weeks before GivingTuesday so that you’ll have time to make any necessary changes and you won’t feel panicked by a time crunch.

Prepare your thank-you letter

Create your acknowledgment template in advance so you’ll be ready to say thank you promptly. You can send an immediate confirmation email via LGL Forms and a more thorough acknowledgment letter or email via your LGL account.

Decide when your GivingTuesday donors will next hear from your organization

If you want to leverage the momentum of GivingTuesday beyond the day itself, retaining donors is the key. Check out our suggestions for creating a comprehensive post-GivingTuesday plan, or consider making thank-you calls to donors.

Let your constituents know you’re participating in GivingTuesday

Once your form and page are set, include a link to your GivingTuesday page on all of your communications through November 28.
