New LGL Orientation widget on Dashboard

We recently added a new LGL Orientation widget to the LGL Dashboard for administrators in all LGL accounts. If you are currently in your trial evaluation period, the LGL Orientation widget replaces a “Getting Started” widget that was previously available. If you are a subscriber, you can add this widget to your Dashboard by clicking the “Customize Dashboard” button.

If you’re an administrator in a subscribing LGL account, we recommend adding the LGL Orientation widget to your Dashboard. Even if you’re already comfortable with how you use LGL, in this new widget you may find some useful information on how to take your work to the next level.

What is the LGL Orientation widget?

As the name suggests, the LGL Orientation widget helps guide your use of LGL in two phases, each in its own tab:

• Initial steps
• Next level

Each tab offers a handful of suggestions on how you can set up and make the most of your Little Green Light account. This includes links to help articles for each topic and a small number of videos you can watch right from the Dashboard.

We’ve also updated how the sample data file works

For new LGL accounts, we’ve long offered a sample data file that can be loaded through the Flex Importer. This sample data gives new account holders a chance to see how LGL will look once some constituent data and gifts have been populated. What we’re changing is how long that sample data file is available. Previously, it was available only during the initial 30-day free evaluation period. But because many accounts aren’t ready to import any data during that 30-day period, the sample data file is now available until the point when your account contains 100 constituent records.

The sample data file is available through the LGL Orientation widget. Once you’ve loaded the sample data, we include a link to where you can then delete that data from your LGL account when you no longer need it.
