Upgraded integration with QuickBooks Online
We have built a significant upgrade to our QuickBooks Online integration, which will benefit anyone using Stripe as the payment processor for LGL Forms. With this upgrade, we are able to queue up deposits based on your Stripe funds transfers and connect the underlying sales receipts to the deposit automatically, and deposits no longer need to be created manually in QuickBooks.
New and improved PayPal integration for LGL Forms
We have updated PayPal in LGL Forms to the latest version, which adds additional security and payment methods. The PayPal Complete Payments integration uses a completely new and improved platform provided by PayPal and provides three benefits for LGL Forms users: Support for recurring donations without the need to be logged into a PayPal account, and the additional payment options of Venmo and Google Pay.
This update includes the ability to offer PayPal and Venmo as potential payment methods in a Stripe-enabled form.
Behind the scenes: Moving LGL Forms into Little Green Light
We have rewritten much of the code for LGL Forms, which allows for a tighter integration between it and the donor management database side of all Little Green Light accounts.
This does not affect the location of any of your published forms, and access to all of your public forms will be unchanged, so you don’t need to take any action.
The most visible change is that the URL (web address) for LGL Forms now matches your Little Green Light account key. In other words, if your LGL account is at “https://myaccount.littlegreenlight.com”, your URL for LGL Forms is at that same URL followed by “/lglforms”. So your LGL Forms account URL is “https://myaccount.littlegreenlight.com/lglforms”, as opposed to what it previously was, “https://admin.lglforms.com/”.
LGL Forms now offers a QR code for published forms
It’s now possible to copy a QR code for your published LGL form and use it on a poster or a letter or embed it on your website. Scanning this code will take users directly to your form on the secure page hosted by LGL Forms.
Creation of a current year (2024) version of our Giving Tuesday form
We created an updated Giving Tuesday form for 2024, which became available in late September.
2024 Annual Statements feature updates
The 2024 version of the Annual Statements feature is now live. Each year, we enable this feature for the just-ending calendar year. Annual statements are designed to be mailed or emailed in early the following year (i.e., January 2025), but we know some customers like to start working on them earlier.
We have also added functionality to the Annual Statements feature to make the resolution of failed emails easier. From the list of failed emails, users will be able to either update the failed email address, move the recipient to the mailing segment, or re-send the email.
Double the Donation: Add second API Key-based integration option
We have added functionality to the Integrations page for the new, fuller integration that Double the Donation built, which uses the API to pull gifts nightly from LGL accounts.
“Expand” option now added to the API “Search for Gifts” request
We have added an “expand” option to our API to allow responses to gift searches to include information about the related donors, eliminating the need for additional requests.
“External ID” values now included in the constituent overview section of the comprehensive export
We have added “External constituent ID” as a column to the constituent_overview.csv sheet in the comprehensive export.
Integration Settings page redesign
We have updated our Integration Settings page to make it easier for customers to find useful integrations. We also moved the enhancements listed in the “Provided by LGL” (LGL Forms, LGL Email, and Address Verification) section off the Integration Settings page and into their respective homes within LGL.
Forms: Popup error message updated for minimum amount in LGL Forms
In LGL Forms, the popup error message when a lower amount than the minimum allowed was submitted has been updated to now state what the minimum amount is rather than only that the amount was too small.
Stripe/QuickBooks Online: Block deposit sync when bank account is not set
In the new QBO integration, some customers tried to sync a deposit without setting the “Deposit to”/Bank account. This has now been updated to require this account to be set before allowing a deposit to sync. These additional fixes have also been completed:
Re-add the option to set a specific constituent on demand
The new QBO interface had a bug that prevented the customer from being set in certain situations, which prohibited syncing. This has now been fixed.
Warning/Alert not displaying when an appeal with active segments was deleted
An update was previously causing issues with the alert that should have displayed when a user attempted to delete an appeal containing active segments. This has now been fixed.
Bulk Gift Entry date fields too small
Some date fields were not displaying correctly on the Bulk Gift Entry screen. This has now been fixed.
Comprehensive export lacking information
The comprehensive export Gift_pledges file did not include the “Writeoff” field. This has now been fixed.
Discrepancy in export field name between the gift export and the comprehensive export
Previously, there was a discrepancy between the name generated for the LGL Constituent ID field between two of the files created by the comprehensive export. This has now been fixed.
Some users unable to attach image to emails
A software update caused some users to not be able to attach an image to an email. This has now been fixed.
Calendar popup not appearing when adding a new event from a new gift
When adding a new event while adding a new gift, the calendar did not pop up when the user clicked the Calendar icon. This has now been fixed.
Unchecking “include contents in notification email” within contact report not functioning
Some users found that unchecking the “include content in notification email” option within a contact report form did not exclude the content from the notification email. This has now been fixed.
“Is a pledge payment” field in comprehensive export always exporting values of “False”
Previously, when creating a comprehensive export, some users found that the field “Is a pledge payment” always exported values of “False”. We have now fixed this issue.
Notification recipient not removable from a gift assigned to a named tribute
When adding a gift for a named tribute that had notification recipients(s) set, users were unable to remove a notification recipient for that specific gift record. This has now been fixed.
gifts.ack.tribute.* fields not working for soft credits on tribute gifts
Previously, merge fields related to tribute acknowledgments were not available for constituents with a soft credit for the tribute gift. This has now been fixed.
Special communication tags not updating via API
Some users previously experienced an issue in which special communication tags were not being updated via the API. This has now been fixed.
Exclusions not clickable in emails
Some users previously experienced the issue of not being able to click on the email exclusion counts to see who had been excluded. This has now been fixed.
Missing [[sender_signature]] merge field
The [[sender_signature]] merge field was inadvertently removed as an option when creating emails. This has now been fixed.
Forms: Unable to update recurring payment credit card info when using LGL Forms
When using Stripe-enhanced checkout, some users were not able to update recurring credit card payments. This has been fixed.
Forms: “$” sign added to pledge.total merge field conflicting with the auto-complete logic for the form
In Forms, the [[pledge.total]] merge field was previously adding the “$” sign, which is normally intended, but in some cases this was causing a conflict with the auto-complete logic for the form. The issue has been fixed.
Forms: Error message unclear when non-numeric characters were present in Amount field
In Forms, an error message displayed when a user placed a “$” sign in the Amount field, but the error displayed did not accurately communicate the problem. This has now been fixed.
Forms: “Bi-Monthly” recurring gift schedule option not available
After a system update, the “Bi-Monthly” option was no longer available on the form mapping page for setting the recurring gift schedule. This has now been fixed.
Forms: Active recurring payment schedules with an end date in the future not being included in the active recurring csv export
The active recurring csv export included active payment schedules with end dates in the past instead of in the future as it should have. This has been fixed so that only payment schedules with end dates in the future are included.
Forms: Updating recurring credit card information not working for ProPay
A software bug was not allowing recurring credit card information to be updated for LGL forms using ProPay. This has now been fixed.
Forms: Missed reCapcha preventing form submission
If the reCapcha was missed when submitting a form, the Submit button was not available. There was no way to go back to the reCaptcha, and also no error was displayed. This has now been fixed.
