We’ve revamped our LGL Basic Training Course, and we can’t wait to have you join us in January for the very first series of this new, more interactive online offering!
Little Green Light offers several online training opportunities throughout the year, including our popular Basic Training webinar series, our weekly Customer Q&A sessions, and some special topic webinars featuring guest presenters. If you’d like to stay in the know, be sure you subscribe to our emails to get all our latest news, including when upcoming training sessions will be offered.
Over the last year, 2,778 LGL’ers attended our Basic Training webinar course, with many more watching the recordings of the various webinars. Based on the feedback we received from those of you who completed the training evaluation forms (thank you so much!), we came to a few conclusions on how we could improve the course in the coming year.
Our previous course offered 3 hour-long sessions held weekly via live webinar. We learned that although most attendees found the content to be useful, it was sometimes a bit dense and they wished for more opportunities to digest the info and have the ability to ask questions as they were learning. So, we have decided to present the Basic Training course over 6 sessions, instead of 3, and offer 30 minutes of presentation with 30 minutes of Q&A. We hope this will feel more interactive for our new users and provide for a better learning experience overall.
Since our Basic Training course is meant for LGL’s newest users, we wanted to make sure we covered the very basics of using LGL. So, we will continue to present Constituents, Gift Management, and Reporting as our main topics. But, we will go into more depth on these key topics in the new course, especially during the extended Q&A periods.
Session 1: Creating and editing constituent records; relationships and duplicates
Session 2: Constituent categories; running searches and saving lists
Session 3: Adding and editing gifts; using gift coding effectively
Session 4: Acknowledging gifts in LGL
Session 5: Reports that are built into your LGL account
Session 6: Creating custom reports in LGL
This 6-part Little Green Light Basic Training webinar series runs for 3 consecutive weeks every other month, with 2 sessions held each week.
A 30-minute live presentation is followed by a 30-minute live Q&A period, facilitated by an LGL expert.
Our next training series will occur in January 2024 on the following dates:
Jan 9, Jan 11, Jan 16, Jan 18, Jan 23, and Jan 25
All sessions will occur at 2-3 pm ET
Register once for all 6 sessions and join one or all as your schedule permits. All registrants will receive a recorded copy of each session, and they will also be posted in LGL’s Video Library, along with the documents shared in the sessions.
Register for these free sessions on the Help page in your LGL account or by clicking here.
Each week, LGL offers an opportunity to ask questions of our support team via a small group webinar. These Customer Q&A sessions are free and included with your LGL subscription. Sessions are limited to 4 participants.
If you’re an LGL customer, you can pre-register for an upcoming session by using the link found on the Help page in your LGL account.

I recently participated in 3 training webinars — Constituents 101, Gift Management 101 and Reporting 101. Is this upcoming training the same material? I am trying to decide if I should sign up for the 6 basic training sessions.
HI Patricia,
It is similar in content – we just expanded the time so that we’d be better able to respind to questions from the participants. All our sessions will be recorded and added to the LGL Video Library for later viewing.
Thanks,
Timi
Hi, I read somewhere in here that you will offer the six-session training series every other month. I cannot attend in January. Do you have the March dates set yet?
Hi Mary,
We haven’t set them up for March yet but will do so shortly. If you want to watch the recordings, you can register for the January session and we will send each recording after each session. And, of course, you can join a live session in March if you’d like.
Thanks,
Timi
