Little Green Light announces price changes

LGL Price Change effective March 1, 2022

Today, Little Green Light is announcing a price change that will go into effect for all new LGL accounts on March 1, 2022. Details are available in the sections below.

Existing LGL accounts will have the option to transition to the new pricing as of March 1, 2022. Otherwise, existing accounts will move to the new pricing in March 2023.

The price change has two parts

First, the monthly subscription fee is increasing for each constituent tier. The price of the first constituent tier, which covers up to 2,500 constituent records, will increase from $39 per month to $45 per month. Each subsequent tier will be priced at $15 per month more than the tier beneath it, so the price for the 5,000 constituent tier will be $60 per month, the tier after that (10,000 constituents) will be $75 per month, and so on.

New LGL Pricing table

We are continuing to offer discounts for pre-payments, as follows:
Prepay for 3 months = 2.5% discount
Prepay for 6 months = 5% discount
Prepay for 12 months = 10% discount

Second, the 1% LGL forms fee is being removed in the new pricing plan. Under the current pricing plan, the LGL forms fee is 1% of donations and other transactions processed through LGL forms, capped at $50 per month. Accounts on the new pricing plan will pay zero fees to LGL for using LGL forms for donations and other payment processing. (Note: The 1% fee is separate from the processing fees charged by payment processors: Stripe, PayPal, or ProPay. The fees charged by these payment processors will continue to be set by these companies and are unaffected by LGL’s pricing change.)

Why is LGL raising prices?

  • The subscription fee increase is a cost-of-living/inflation update: Prices for accounts under 30,000 constituents have not changed in more than a decade.
  • This change allows for continued improvement of our software and investment in the resources we can provide to all customers.
  • We are also delighted to be able to remove the LGL forms fee, which will make our simple solution for donation processing even more accessible, and valuable, to all LGL customers.

Timing of this change

The new pricing will be in effect for all accounts created on or after March 1, 2022. Older accounts can opt into the new pricing as of March 1, 2022, but otherwise they will move to the new pricing in March 2023.

  1. Hi, I can’t tell if I actually submitted my question previously so trying again:

    Thanks for the update Hunter! As a smaller nonprofit, we may take advantage of the offer to budget this change in for our 2023 fiscal year. Will there be backpay owed at that point or is it truly that simple to allow existing customers to phase this in? Thanks!

      Our existing customers (or those that create an account prior to March 1, 2022) will be subject to our current pricing until March of 2023, unless they choose to opt in earlier and take advantage of the $0 platform fees to use LGL Forms under the new pricing.

      Opting in to the new pricing can be an advantage if you use LGL Forms to process payments or plan to. There is no obligation to opt in early, but you can if it benefits you.
